Position Summary The Cato-Meridian Central School District is seeking a knowledgeable, collaborative, and student-centered Speech-Language Pathologist (0.5 FTE) to provide speech and language services to students with disabilities. The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to support students' communication needs and facilitate access to the educational environment. Qualifications Candidates must possess: New York State certification as a New York State license as a Speech-Language Pathologist. Experience working with school-aged students with a variety of communication needs preferred. Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and compliance requirements related to speech-language services. Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills. Ability to work effectively with students, families, teachers, service providers, and administrators. Experience with assistive technology and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems is preferred. Familiarity with progress monitoring, data collection, and development of standards-based IEP goals is desirable. Essential Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Conduct speech-language evaluations and participate in the determination of students' eligibility for special education services. Develop, implement, and monitor individualized speech-language treatment plans aligned with students' IEP goals. Provide direct and indirect speech-language therapy services in individual and small-group settings. Maintain accurate service records, progress monitoring data, evaluation reports, and Medicaid documentation as required. Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families to support student success across educational settings. Participate as a member of the Committee on Special Education (CSE) and Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE) as appropriate. Consult with staff regarding strategies to enhance communication skills within the classroom environment. Assist in identifying and implementing appropriate accommodations, modifications, and communication supports. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all federal, state, and district policies and regulations.
