The Cortland Enlarged City School District is seeking a High School Principal for the 2024-2025 school year!Job Responsibilities (Illustrative Only)The High School Principal will be responsible for the direction of all programming for students in grades 9-12.They will lead, organize, and manage the overall operations of the High School, and will be responsible for the actions of students, staff, visitors, and any other persons learning, working, or visiting the school. Examples include:- Providing leadership and direction to ensure a safe and productive learning environment including the implementation of a Guaranteed and Viable curriculum. - Collaborating with the high school administrative team and leaders throughout the district. - Working as part of the District Leadership Team. - Developing and implementing educational programs and school policies in line with district, state, and federal regulations.- Supervising and evaluating teachers and staff, providing feedback and professional development opportunities.- Establishing open and clear lines of communications.- Fostering a positive school culture that promotes student engagement, achievement, and well-being.- Collaborating with teachers, parents, and the community to support student success and address concerns.- Managing school budgets, resources, and facilities to optimize educational outcomes.- Handling disciplinary issues and maintaining a positive school climate.- Representing the school at district meetings, community events, and other public functions.- Completing other duties as assigned.
