Full-Time Leave Replacement Biology Teacher The Cold Spring Harbor Central School District is seeking a dynamic and student-centered Leave Replacement Biology Teacher to join our secondary science team. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of the New York State Science Learning Standards (NYSSLS) and the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), with a commitment to delivering engaging, inquiry-driven instruction that fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and scientific literacy. Qualifications : Valid New York State certification in Biology 7-12. Valid 7-12 General Science a plus. Master's Degree in Biology preferred Knowledge of NYSSLS/NGSS instructional shifts and three-dimensional learning. Experience designing and implementing phenomena-based lessons that encourage students to investigate real-world scientific questions. Ability to facilitate student-centered learning through inquiry, discourse, data analysis, modeling, and evidence-based reasoning. Strong classroom management and collaboration skills. Commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment that supports all learners. Preferred Qualifications: Dual certification in an additional science area and/or Special Education a plus. Experience integrating laboratory investigations, technology, and authentic scientific practices into instruction. Familiarity with Regents-level coursework and assessment. We are seeking an educator who inspires students to explore the natural world, think like scientists, and engage deeply in the process of scientific discovery.
