F/T Leave Replacement Earth Science Teacher The Cold Spring Harbor Central School District is seeking a dynamic and student-centered Leave Replacement Earth Science Teacher to join our secondary science team. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of the New York State Science Learning Standards (NYSSLS) and the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), with a commitment to delivering engaging, inquiry-driven instruction that fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and scientific literacy. Required Certification: New York State Certification in Earth Science (7-12) New York State Certification in General Science (7-12) a plus Qualifications : Knowledge of NYSSLS/NGSS instructional shifts and three-dimensional learning. Experience designing and implementing phenomena-based lessons that encourage students to investigate real-world scientific questions. Ability to facilitate student-centered learning through inquiry, discourse, data analysis, modeling, and evidence-based reasoning. Strong classroom management and collaboration skills. Commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment that supports all learners. Preferred Qualifications: Dual certification in an additional science area (Physics, Chemistry) and/or Special Education a plus. Experience integrating laboratory investigations, technology, and authentic scientific practices into instruction. Familiarity with Regents-level coursework and assessment.
