Cold Spring Harbor is seeking a passionate, dedicated, and compassionate K-6 Special Education Teacher to join our elementary school team. This position requires an individual who can support students with diverse learning needs and create an inclusive, positive, and engaging learning environment. This individual will work closely with students, parents, and school staff to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and ensure academic success for students with disabilities. Requirements K-6 Special Education experience preferred Integrated Co-teaching experience preferred Special Certification (Students with Disabilities All Grades or B-2 and 1-6) required. Dually certified (Elementary Education or Literacy) preferred. Description Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and other special needs. Provide direct instruction to students either individually or in small groups, based on their needs and IEP goals. Collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure accommodations and modifications are provided for students in inclusive classrooms. Monitor and track student progress toward IEP goals, adjusting instruction and interventions as needed. Conduct assessments and provide feedback to parents/guardians regarding students’ academic, behavioral, and social progress. Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment. Provide behavioral and emotional support to students, as needed. Attend IEP meetings, school staff meetings, and professional development sessions. Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure student success.
