F/T AIS Coordinator - K-6Teacher on Special Assignment The AIS Coordinator supports a continuous focus on improving student achievement, as well as enhancing student growth and development, by working collaboratively with teachers, building leaders and parents. The coordinator identifies students’ learning needs and develops intervention plans to close achievement gaps.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Maintaining, evaluating and analyzing both quantitative and qualitative student performance data. Create and lead data review cycles.Managing records, identifying performance trends and supporting students through direct intervention, co-teaching/modeling and/or consultation with instructors.Oversee AIS staff and provide regular feedback.Oversees the coordination and implementation of schoolwide student small group intervention and acceleration.Develops and facilitates professional learning opportunities for staff.Successful candidates must possess:NYS Elementary Certification (1-6) (required) and Literacy Certification (preferred)Knowledge of NYS Learning Standards in ELA and mathematicsExperience teaching elementary literacy and mathematics, including identifying students’ learning needs and creating action plans for successful targeted interventionDemonstrated skills that include developing trust among colleagues and working collaboratively to support students’ needsKnowledge and experience using a variety of academic assessments, and designing interventions/instruction to meet identified needsStrong interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skillsCover letter may be addressed to Mona Hecht, Assistant Superintendent for Counseling, Student Services & Human Resources.
