Civil service position. This will be a provisional appointment for eligible candidates, (approved by civil service). Eligible candidates are required to pass the required Director of Information Technology Examination and score within the top three. AVAILABLE: October 3, 2025 SALARY: Commensurate with experienceJOB DUTIES:Hires and supervises IT staff. Schedules, organizes, and assigns projects to members of the IT team.Conducts performance evaluations that are constructive for all IT staff. Manages and supervises the organization’s entire instructional, administrative and technical systems. Leads development and implementation processes for the organizations IT systems and department, which includes budgeting process for the department as well as all hardware and software needs for the entire school district. Also sets goals with the administration and the District Technology Committee to further technology within the school district.Develops and implements business continuity protocols to minimize disruption to school operations in the event of emergency situations or data loss. Establishes efficiency and efficacy standards, providing recommendations for improvement of IT infrastructure.Analyzes IT infrastructure and systems performance to assess operating costs, productivity levels, upgrade requirements, and other metrics and needs. Oversees security of systems, networks, and enterprise information. Facilitates IT security audits or investigations. Develops and maintains relationships with external IT vendors, service providers. Works closely with all other district’s departments to determine and address IT needs and requirements. Performs other related duties as assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Either: A. Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a bachelor's degree in computer technology, computer science, network technology, management information systems, information technology, information resource management or related field and four years of administrative or professional level experience in the support of computer hardware and software, systems analysis, information systems management or configuration and administration of local and wide-area networks, two years of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity; ORB. Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a bachelor's degree including or supplemented by 18 semester credit hours in computer technology, computer science, network technology, management information systems, information technology, information resource management or related field and five years of administrative or professional level experience in the support of computer hardware and software, systems analysis, information systems management or configuration and administration of local and wide-area networks, two years of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity; ORC. Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an associate's degree including or supplemented by 18 semester credit hours in computer technology, computer science, network technology, management information systems, information technology, information resource management or related field and seven years of administrative or professional level experience in the support of computer hardware and software, systems analysis, information systems management or configuration and administration of local and wide-area networks, two years of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity; ORD. An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B) and (C) above.
