SALARY: Per CPTA contract START DATE: August 26, 2026 The Carle Place School District is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to support students with diverse learning needs. The ideal candidate holds special education certification across a wide range of elementary grade levels and is committed to creating a structured, supportive, and inclusive learning environment while implementing evidence-based strategies to promote academic, social, and behavioral growth. Additional TESOL certification preferred. Key Responsibilities/Skills: Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) aligned with student goals Apply data-driven interventions in classroom instruction Conduct ongoing data collection and progress monitoring Collaborate with various stakeholders including general education teachers, special education administrators and faculties, support staff, and families Manage classroom behavior using positive behavior supports Adapt curriculum to meet individual learning needs Participate in IEP meetings, staff trainings, and professional development Maintain accurate documentation and comply with special education regulations
