Carle Place Union Free School District168 Cherry Lane, Carle Place, New York 11514-1788 11 MONTH ADMINISTRATIVE VACANCYDISTRICT DIRECTOR of STEM & BUSINESSThe District Director of STEM and Business provides leadership and vision for the district’s Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM), and Business programs, ensuring high-quality instruction, alignment with New York State Learning Standards, and integration of best practices. Reporting to the Superintendent, Deputy Superintendent, and Assistant Superintendent, this position collaborates with building administrators to drive innovation, curriculum development, and student achievement in STEM and Business education.Key Responsibilities: Oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of STEM and Business curricula, ensuring alignment with New York State Next Generation Learning Standards. Analyze student performance data to inform instructional decisions and program improvements. Support the integration of computational thinking, coding, robotics, engineering, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship across K-12 instruction. Lead the adoption of inquiry-based learning, project-based instruction, and interdisciplinary STEM approaches. Facilitate professional learning for teachers and administrators on best practices in STEM and Business education. Oversee and expand career and technical education (CTE) pathways, including work-based learning, internships, and industry certifications. Support STEM and Business competitions, fairs, and industry partnerships to enhance student engagement. Collaborate with local businesses, colleges, and community organizations to create mentorship and career exploration opportunities. Ensure district compliance with NYS graduation requirements, industry certifications, and CTE program regulations. Participate in district leadership meetings, evening meetings as assigned, and summer retreats. Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by district leadership.Qualifications: NYS Administrative Certification (SDL/SDA). Expertise in STEM and Business education, curriculum development, and instructional best practices. Experience with teacher supervision, program implementation, and industry partnerships.
