The Cooperstown Central School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Licensed Teaching Assistant. Position is full-time, ten (10) months offering $20.02 an hour plus benefits package per the Service Unit Contract. This position is Monday through Friday, when school is in session, from 8:00 am until 3:00 pm.The successful candidate will work to provide instructional services to students under the general supervision of a licensed or certified teacher. Duties may include, but are not limited to: providing test accommodations and program modifications, working with individual students and/or groups of students on special instructional projects, assisting students in the use of instructional resources, providing teachers with information about students to assist in the development of appropriate learning and behavioral experiences, assisting in the development of instructional materials, utilizing your own special skills and abilities by assisting in instructional programs including remediation in content subjects, foreign languages, study skills, organizational strategies, arts, and music, and implementing classroom-wide behavioral supports and individual behavior intervention plans.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to establish positive relationships with students, teachers, parents, and colleagues; have strong background and/or knowledge in field of education and the general education curriculum; have exceptional clerical aptitude and organizational skills; prove resourcefulness and ability to take initiative in classroom setting; and have ability to maintain discipline and to self-reflect and accept constructive feedback.
