Early Learning & Student Success Coach Position Summary The Early Learning & Student Success Coach partners with educators and school leaders to strengthen early learning experiences, build educator capacity, and create the conditions where every child can thrive. Through coaching, consultation, and professional learning, this position helps districts strengthen instructional practices, create engaging learning environments, advance early literacy, and build integrated systems that support learning, well-being, and student success. Reports To: Director of Instructional Support Services and Coordinator of Professional Learning Work Year: Ten-month position with up to 30 additional summer days Primary Responsibilities Early Learning & Literacy Provide regional leadership in early childhood education, child development, and evidence-based early literacy. Partner with districts to strengthen preschool and elementary learning experiences. Plan and facilitate quarterly Early Learning Collaborative Communities. Support implementation of developmentally appropriate and evidence-based early learning practices. Student Success & Learning Environments Coach educators and leadership teams in creating positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environments. Support districts in strengthening Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), Student Support Teams, and systems that improve student outcomes. Help schools align academic, behavioral, attendance, and social-emotional supports. Coaching, Leadership & Partnerships Design and facilitate professional learning that builds educator capacity. Provide job-embedded coaching through classroom observations, modeling, collaborative planning, and reflective conversations. Co-lead Community Schools initiatives and collaborate with regional partners to strengthen supports for children and families. Work collaboratively with the Instructional Support Services team to provide coordinated regional services. Qualifications Required Valid New York State teaching certification. Successful teaching experience in early learning classrooms (PK–3) or related elementary settings. Demonstrated expertise in early childhood education, child development, and evidence-based early literacy practices. Experience coaching educators and facilitating professional learning. Strong communication, collaboration, facilitation, and relationship-building skills. Preferred Experience with Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), Student Support Teams, Community Schools, Pyramid Model, PBIS, restorative practices, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention for Schools (TCIS), or other evidence-based frameworks that support student success.
