TITLE: Special Education Curriculum CoordinatorThe Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES is seeking a dynamic and experienced Special Education Curriculum Coordinator to lead the development and implementation of inclusive, high-quality curricula for students with disabilities. The ideal candidate will be an instructional leader with a deep understanding of special education best practices and a passion for ensuring equitable access to learning for all students.REPORTS TO: Director of Special Education QUALIFICATIONS:Valid NYS Administrative certification required.Minimum 3-5 years of experience in special education teaching or curriculum leadership.Deep understanding of IDEA, IEP development, and differentiated instructional strategies.Experience with curriculum mapping, universal design for learning (UDL), and multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) is a plus.Strong interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills.WORK YEAR: 12 Month PositionPOSITION SUMMARY: The Special Education Curriculum Coordinator is responsible for overseeing, developing, and implementing high-quality, inclusive curricula for students with disabilities. This role ensures compliance with state and federal regulations and aligns instructional strategies and resources to meet the diverse needs of learners. The coordinator will collaborate with teachers, administrators, and specialists to support differentiated instruction, provide professional development, and improve student outcomes.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinate the definition, articulation, implementation and evaluation of standards based K-12 curriculum.Design and adapt curriculum materials for students with special needs across grade levels.Support and monitor horizontal and vertical curriculum alignment in all content areasSupport and monitor the implementation of curriculum through review of lesson plans, coaching conversations and classroom visitationsProvide coaching and guidance to special education teachers on curriculum implementation, IEP development, and instructional strategies.Support the integration of accommodations and modifications into general education classrooms.Develop systems to monitor and support the mentoring of new staffServe on regional Curriculum and Staff Development CouncilDesign and deliver a variety of single day, multi-day and after school professional learning opportunitiesComplete all other assignments as delegated by supervisorsBenefits of Working with us:Competitive Salary, Commensurate with Experience.Full benefits, including health insurance.Paid sick, personal, vacation and family illness.Possibility of Public Service Loan Forgiveness.403B.Flex Spending.Employee Assistance Program.NYS Teacher Retirement System Pension.
