Valid New York State teacher certification2. Knowledge of NYS standards, current educational trends, initiatives for school reform and adult learning theory4. Experience or demonstrated competencies in professional development.WORK YEAR: Ten (10) month position, with up to 30 additional summer days as neededDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Support Planning Efforts of Districts:Consult and collaborate with district leaders to plan goal-oriented and data-driven professional developmentResearch and disseminate information relative to the improvement of teaching and learningPlan and deliver on-site, customized professional development services through presentation, facilitation, planning sessions, and consultationOnsite Professional Coaching and Follow-UpAssess the skill level of teachers to aid in the continual development of programs that meet the needs of the participantsModel strategies and provide ongoing support, mentoring and coaching through individual meetings as well as in workshop settingsDevelop methods and strategies for designing, implementing, and evaluating professional learning programsWorkshops- On-Site and /or RegionalDesign and deliver a variety of single day, multi-day and afterschool workshops based on district goals and requestsProvide continuing support for instruction by conducting classroom demonstrations, diagnostic observation with feedback, lesson planning and problem solving
