Qualifications: Current NYS SDBL Certification or Oneida County Civil Service Commensurate TitleSuccessful experience as a business leader in a school district skilled in budget development and management of business operationsA thorough understanding of regulations and requirements regarding pupil transportation, food service, facilities, Capital Projects, school safety and security, and grantsFinance and/or Accounting Degree preferred.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Responsibilities: Primary responsibility for the supervision and management of the business and financial affairs of the District.Allocate resources aligned to the District's mission and strategic goals in a fiscally responsible and transparent manner.Prepare monthly reports on the financial position of the District.Oversee and steward capital projects.Supervise Facilities and Transportation management personnel.Coordinate and supervise all audits (e.g., annual, internal, claims, Office of State Comptroller, or other) and prepare necessary responses and corrective action plans to governmental agencies.Facilitate the Finance Committee with the Board of Education Chairperson and Superintendent.Oversee all accounting operations including receivables, payables, payroll, general ledger, and internal control procedures.Work collaboratively with the Superintendent of Schools in the preparation of the annual budget and presentation to the Board of Education.Demonstrate leadership over all aspects of the business department including, payroll, benefits, accounts payable, auditing, accounting, other pertinent fiscal responsibilities. Participate in all aspects of the collective bargaining process, including compensation analysis, budgetary implications, and regional comparisons. Maintain knowledge of current and proposed state and federal laws governing the control and distribution of school district finances and accountability reporting.Attend all Board of Education meetings and Executive Session as needed. Serve in a confidential capacity to the Superintendent in matters of Labor Relations and Personnel Administration.
