The Chappaqua Central School District is a community of six schools serving 3500 students in Westchester County. Chappaqua CSD is looking for a thoughtful and knowledgeable educator to serve in the anticipated probationary position of Physics Teacher at Horace Greeley High School beginning 8/28/2025.Note: applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.Prior experience preferred: Candidates with prior teaching experience in Physics are encouraged to apply. Essential Functions:Deep knowledge of NYS Science Learning Standards and Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), with an emphasis on Physics and Science Research.Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, fostering student learning and engagement.Develops clear, engaging, and relevant lesson plans that appropriately challenge students and incorporate inquiry-based learning.Implements project-based learning, differentiated instruction, and various teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles.Engages in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth; actively seeks professional learning opportunities.ensures effective communication with students and parents.Committed to student-centered and student-driven learning experiences, providing opportunities for student voice and choice.Designs learning activities to demonstrate the application of physics concepts to real-world situations and problem-solving.Willing and able to work in a collaborative teaching environment, including co-teaching and interdisciplinary planning.Experience with social and emotional learning (SEL) and building a positive classroom culture focused on the whole child (knowledge of RULER is a plus).Certification/Experience:New York State Certification as a Science Education Teacher (Grades 7-12).Preferred: New York State Certification in Physics.This position includes a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, and extensive opportunities for professional development and mentor support.Salary Range (as of 24/25 school year): $70,467 - $151,438Apply here on OLAS as well as on our school website www.chappaquaschools.org (pull-down "quick links" then "join our team").
