The Chappaqua Central School District is a community of six schools serving 3500 students in Westchester County. Chappaqua CSD is looking for a thoughtful and knowledgeable educator to serve in the anticipated probationary position of Earth Science Teacher at Horace Greeley High School beginning 8/28/2025.Note: applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.Prior experience preferred: Candidates with prior teaching experience in Earth Science are highly encouraged to apply.Essential Functions:Deep knowledge of NYS Science Learning Standards and the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), with a focus on Earth Science.Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, fostering student learning and engagement.Develops clear, engaging, and relevant lesson plans that challenge students and incorporate inquiry-based learning.Implements project-based learning, differentiated instruction, and various teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles.Engages in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth; actively seeks professional learning opportunities.ensures effective communication with students and parents.Willing and able to work in a collaborative teaching environment, including co-teaching and interdisciplinary planning.Experience with social and emotional learning (SEL) preferred.Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, modifying instructional methods to fit individual needs.Designs learning activities that demonstrate the application of Earth Science concepts to real-world situations and problem-solving.Certification/License:New York State Certification as an Earth Science Teacher (Grades 7-12).This position includes a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, and extensive opportunities for professional development and mentor support.Salary Range (as of 24/25 school year): $70,467 - $151,438Apply on OLAS as well as on our website www.chappaquaschools.org (pull-down "quick links" and "join our team").
