The Chappaqua Central School District is a community of six schools serving 3500 students in Westchester County. Chappaqua CSD is looking for a thoughtful and knowledgeable educator to serve in the anticipated probationary position of Art Teacher at the Middle School beginning 8/31/2023.Essential Functions & SkillsDevelops and administers school art curriculum consistent with school district goals and vision and rooted in the NYS Standards for the Arts.Demonstrates an interest and success in working with middle-level learners. Ability to meaningfully integrate technology into the art education experience.Familiar with constructing and facilitating Project and Inquiry Based Learning experiences for students.Familiar with i-Movie and Photoshop.Teaches knowledge and skills in art, including drawing, painting, graphic design, digital media, art history, and three-dimensional art to middle school learners. Has a strong understanding of fine and design arts.Conducts ongoing assessment of student skills and learning in artistic techniques and expression, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs.Demonstrates techniques in 2D and 3D art using standard and teacher-prepared instructional aids.Develops instructional plans and organizes class time to provide a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and working time.Continues to engage in meaningful professional learning opportunities through readings, workshops, podcasts, conferences, and an active PLN.
