The Chappaqua Central School District is a community of six schools serving 3500 students in Westchester County. Chappaqua CSD is looking for a thoughtful and knowledgeable educator to serve in the anticipated probationary position of Middle School Physical Education Teacher beginning 8/31/2023. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Develops and administers school physical education curriculum consistent with school district goals and vision and rooted in the NYS Standards for the P.E.?Successful experience working with students in Grades 5 - 8 to promote a healthy lifestyle and effective decision making.Experience with social emotional learning is preferred.Engages in ongoing professional learning to enhance teaching practices.Participates in extracurricular activities, including coaching and attending various athletic events.Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.Coordinates with other professional staff members, especially within physical education and grade level, and participates in faculty meetings and committeesKnowledge of current physical education instructional methods, as well as differentiated instruction based upon student learning stylesKnowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plansKnowledge of applicable federal and state laws and regulations regarding education and students, as well as relating to health educationKnowledge of physiology, health and nutrition, biology and biological functions, anatomy, hygiene, exercise, and best ways to promote physical and mental well-beingCertifications/Experience:NYS Physical Education CertificationSuccessful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level and/or subject is a plus.This position includes a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, and extensive opportunities for professional development and mentor support.Application deadline: ASAPSalary Range: $69,426 - $149,200Please apply on OLAS for this position and through our website www.chappaquaschools.org (click the “Join Our Team” logo in the upper right corner of the home page).
