Our priority in Chappaqua is clear: to be a learning organization where talented individuals from diverse backgrounds feel seen and valued, and are committed to doing their best work!Chappaqua CSD is looking for a dynamic and innovative educator to serve in the anticipated position of Leave Replacement Elementary Teacher anticipated to begin on November 14, 2022 and continue through January 31, 2023 at Roaring Brook Elementary School.Essential FunctionsElementary Leave Replacement position at Roaring Brook (anticipated to start November 14, 2022 through January 31, 2023)Thorough knowledge of the NYS ELA Standards with a strong primary literacy background. Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and translates lesson plans into learning experiences to develop pertinent sequential assignments, challenge students, and best utilize the available time for instruction.Strong understanding of adolescent development.Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth; actively seeks professional learning opportunities.Strong knowledge of reading and writing workshops and the TC Units of Study.Candidate should be proficient in project-based learning and differentiation of instruction.Willing and able to work in a collaborative teaching environment, including co-teaching and interdisciplinary planning.Experience with social and emotional learning preferred.Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs.Encourages family involvement in students education and ensures effective communication with students and families.Leave replacement position comes with a robust compensation package, extensive PD opportunities & the possibility for work after the successful completion of the leave.Certification/License:Required: NYS Childhood Education Gr. 1 - 6 Certification preferred
