Chappaqua CSD is looking for a dynamic, engaging and creative educator to serve in the position of probationary Elementary Music Teacher (General Music & Instrumental) for 2022-2023 at Westorchard Elementary School**** PREVIOUS APPLICANTS NEED NOT RE-APPLY ****Essential Functions, Skills and AttributesDevelops and actualizes a general music program consistent with school district vision, goals and objectives for students in Grades K - 4.Promotes an instrumental classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, based on student's musical readiness levels.Develops balanced music program and lessons to organize class time so that students have adequate time for preparation, rehearsal, and instruction.Utilizes repertoire of all types of music, as appropriate.Familiar with various instruments including, but not limited to, orchestral strings, the flute, clarinet, trumpet, french horn and percussion. Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research.Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and families.Coordinates and collaborates with other professional staff members, especially within grade level, and participates in faculty meetings and committees.Skilled instruction in the training and development of elementary musicians through various instructional experiences.Familiarity with preparing students for various performances through small group instruction. Knowledge of current instructional methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiated and tiered instruction.Ability to establish and maintain positive and trusting relationships with colleagues, students and the broader community. Certification/License:New York State Certification as a Music Teacher Gr.
