The priority in Chappaqua is clear: to be a learning organization where talented individuals from diverse backgrounds feel seen and valued, and are committed to doing their best work!Chappaqua CSD is looking for a dynamic, innovative and thoughtful instructional leader to serve in the probationary position of High School Assistant Principal at HGHS starting July 1, 2022Previous candidates need not applyEssential Functions, Knowledge & SkillsAssists in the development and administration of teaching and learning opportunities consistent with district goals and vision.Provides leadership and direction to staff with regard to the ongoing evaluation and improvement of educational programs, including curricular and extra-curricular activities.Promotes a school environment that is safe and conducive to individualized instruction, cooperative curriculum development, and student learning.Knowledge of special education, CSE process and Section 504.Strong interpersonal skills with all key stakeholders to help build and nurture a positive school climate and culture.Actively engages in personal and professional growth through various learning opportunities & encourages staff to continue to grow professionally and to experiment with new approaches or strategies to teaching.Collaborates with staff and peers on all issues related to teaching and learning.Encourages family involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and families.Knowledge of progressive and innovative instructional methods and educational pedagogy.Knowledge of the RULER program and overall social and emotional learning concepts.Knowledge of inquiry and project based learning through effective technology integration. Committed to creating equitable and inclusive learning spaces with a focus on promoting social justice. Able to address student disciplinary issues in a timely and just fashion, with all appropriate outcomes and communications completed. Supervises and evaluates teaching staff and other building employees in accordance with the school district's evaluation protocols.Certification/License:NYS SBL or SAS or SDL or SDA Certification as required for position.ExperienceExtensive successful teaching experience, preferably at the secondary level.Successful experience as an assistant principal preferred.This position includes comprehensive benefits and extensive opportunities for professional development and mentor support.Salary Range: $165,000 - $172,000 Application deadline: ASAP
