Director of Pupil Personnel Date: August 21, 2024Position Title: Director of Pupil PersonnelStart Date: September 30, 2024Position Status: FT - 12-month position; tenure per NYSED regulationsReports to: Superintendent of Schools Job Summary:The Director of Pupil Personnel is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of pupil personnel services within the school district. This includes ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, assisting with attendance and truancy programs, overseeing student discipline procedures, and coordinating support services for students and families. The Director works collaboratively with school administrators, teachers, parents, and community agencies to ensure that all students have the opportunity to succeed academically and socially. Key Responsibilities:Student Discipline: Work with school administrators to ensure consistent and fair application of disciplinary actions.Support Services: Coordinate services for students with special needs, including counseling, mental health services, and social services. Liaise with community agencies to provide additional support for students and families.Compliance: Ensure the district's compliance with all state and federal regulations related to pupil personnel services, including special education, 504 plans, and student records.Crisis Management: Respond to emergencies and crises involving students, providing leadership and support to schools and families.Professional Development: Provide training and support to school staff on issues related to pupil personnel, including attendance, discipline, and student support services.Reporting: Prepare and submit reports related to pupil personnel services to the Superintendent, Board of Education, and state or federal agencies as required.Collaboration: Work closely with school administrators, teachers, and parents to develop and implement programs that support student success.
