This role will work with classroom staff to create a supportive and inclusive environment in providing physical, emotional, and educational support to help students reach their full potential in the classroom:The TA will support:the student’s ability to participate in the learning process,the student’s demonstrated acquisition of knowledge and skills,the student’s displaying behaviors that support successthrough assisting the classroom teacher in implementing behavioral management strategies:supporting students in meeting classroom expectationsincorporating identified techniques and strategies in student behavior intervention plans (BIPs) to support learning.The TA may assist the teacher in gathering data and information in the process of functional behavior assessment (FBA); working with individual students or groups of students on instructional projects or programs; assist students in the use of available instructional resources; serve as an appropriate role model to students; provide support to students and staff in various settings; participate in staff development and training to maintain or develop increased professional capacity.We invite highly qualified (NYS certified) applicants to apply to this vacancy.
