Crossroads Center for Children, located in Schenectady, NY, is looking to fill an immediate opening for a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist. Crossroads serves students following principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. ABA is an empirically based science that is used to analyze the relationship between a child and their environment and improve socially significant behavior. We stress positively reinforcing appropriate behaviors and replacing challenging behaviors with functional communication. Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorders is preferred, but not required.Job description includes, but is not limited to:Providing therapy in a variety of models (individual/group, push-in/pull-out)Performing standardized and non-standardized student assessmentsContinual evaluation of progress of studentsMaintaining records and noting progress in student record as well as in the IEPParticipating in team meetings regularly for each assigned student in order to maximize coordination of student goals and progressAttending IEP meetings as requestedBenefits include, but are not limited to:paid initial trainingflexibility of following a school year calendar (including a six-week summer program)access to a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and visionopportunities for continuing educationNYS Certification for Speech and Hearing Handicapped required.
