Key Responsibilities:In accordance with Section 80-5.6(a) of the Commissioner of Education's Regulations, the following responsibilities are essential for effectively supporting students and fostering an inclusive educational environment. Please note that some of these responsibilities may be based on individual student needs, which can change over time.(1) managing records, materials and equipment;• Monitor the student's progress and behavior, keeping detailed records for the teacher and support team.• Prepares simple records and reports on student progress.(2) attending to the physical needs of children;• Support the student(s) with daily tasks, including mobility, personal care, toileting, eating meals, and transitions between activities or classrooms.• Assists student(s) to and from the school bus upon arrival and dismissal.• Assists student(s) with repetitive drills of physical skills as directed by a Special Education Teacher• Works with the school's staff in implementing the recommended activities and to promote improved motor control/coordination and sensory regulation(3) supervising students and performing such other services as support teaching duties when such services are determined and supervised by the teacher.• Implement behavior intervention strategies• Foster a positive and inclusive environment for the students• Assist the student(s) with social interactions and communication with peers• Participate in team meetings and training as necessary to address the evolving needs of studentsLocation: Catskill Central School DistrictSalary: Per CSEA ContractEffective: As Soon as PossibleDeadline: Until Filled
