The Assistant Varsity Cross Country Coach will support the Byram Hills High School cross country program by assisting in the planning and execution of daily practices, race preparation, and athlete development. This role requires active involvement in conditioning activities and may include running the practice course alongside student-athletes to provide pacing support, encouragement, and coaching on form and strategy.The assistant coach will collaborate closely with the Head Coach to foster a positive team culture focused on effort, growth, and sportsmanship. Responsibilities include helping manage meet logistics, monitoring athlete wellness, and maintaining communication with families and the athletic department.Candidates should have a background in distance running, strong motivational and interpersonal skills, and a commitment to supporting student-athletes' physical and mental well-being.
