The Bronxville School is seeking a passionate and creative Elementary Art Leave Replacement (.6 FTE) to join our dedicated faculty from September to November. This position presents an exciting opportunity to inspire young minds and foster a love for art in our students. Appropriate NYS certification is required; experience is preferred.Responsibilities:Develop and implement engaging art lessons for elementary students grades K-5Teach fundamental art techniques and concepts while encouraging creativity and self-expression.Plan and organize art projects, ensuring they align with curriculum goals and standards.Provide guidance and support to students, helping them develop their artistic skills and abilities.Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes a love for art and creativity.Assess student progress through various forms of evaluation, such as assignments, projects, and assessments.Collaborate with other faculty members to integrate art into interdisciplinary activities and events.Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and participate in parent-teacher conferences.Stay up-to-date with current trends, resources, and best practices in art education.Ensure a safe and organized art classroom, managing art supplies and equipment effectively.Qualifications:Previous experience teaching art to elementary students (student teaching or professional experience).Strong knowledge of art techniques, art history, and art appreciation.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to engage and motivate students of abilities.
