BRENTWOOD UNION FREE SCHOOL DISTRICT BRENTWOOD, NY 11717 The Brentwood Union Free School District, New York’s largest suburban school district, announces the following vacancy for an articulate, analytical, dedicated, progressive, and creative educational leader: School Social Worker RESPONSIBILITIES: Creates social histories for referrals from CSE/CPSE Needs to obtain information regarding student’s developmental history, medical history, educational history, home environment, family make-up and dynamics, recreational and vocational interests as well as relevant family history Creates a comprehensive report Responsible for interpreting information found in the social history and sharing this with relevant building staff as well as CSE/CPSE Attends mandated CSE/CPSE meetings to present information Maintains a counseling caseload as mandated by CSE/CPSE Plays an active role as a member of the building team as well as Crisis Intervention team Provides counseling services to students in their assigned building Involved in carrying out Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) and in writing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) Spends a considerable amount of time working with families, which may require visits to the homes to assess their needs.
