The Brentwood Union Free School District, New York’s largest suburban school district, announces the following vacancy for an articulate, analytical, dedicated, progressive, and creative educations leader: Mathematics Bilingual 7-12 Teacher Qualifications:Must hold NYS Mathematics 7-12 Certification.Must hold NYS Bilingual Certification/Supplementary Bilingual Education Extension Certificate.Successful public school teaching experience preferred. Responsibilities: Incorporate the District’s Vision Graduation Plus+ and the school’s objectives into your curriculum by remaining up to date with the mission and initiatives.Design lessons that are aligned to NYSED standards and provide opportunity for problem-solving, creativity and communication skills in relation to real world problems.Ensure your students achieve learning outcomes in the subject of mathematics by instructing students in a clear, concise and fun way, and regularly preparing lesson plans that are engaging and incorporate the curriculum. Provide bilingual instruction in Spanish to support students’ learning within the content. Attend staff development days to improve your skills and receive help and feedback from colleagues.Develop, administer, and evaluate formative and summative assessments that reflect a balance of content knowledge and problem-solving skills so you may monitor student performance and adjust teaching strategies and techniques for improved content delivery.Maintain appropriate documents on assessment of bilingual students.Regularly communicate with parents and legal guardians regarding child’s performance, monitor student performance, maintain attendance, and record student progress, keeping records up to date for progress reports and report cards.Review curriculum needs and execute plans for improvement and provide tutoring and additional support.Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
