Under the direct supervision of the Director of Operations is responsible for supervising the transportation program. Maintains all appropriate records in accordance with state law and district policy. Prepares and maintains a district map and plans school bus routes, stops for all schools. Arranges special bus schedules for athletic events, testing days field trips & graduation. Advises the Board of Education at Budget Workshops on present and future transportation needs and costs; processes complaints and special requests from parents and school officials; advises on current and future transportation needs with respect to in-district runs and out-of-district runs for regular students as well as handicapped students. Supervises personnel in the daily operation of scheduling, reporting and maintaining all appropriate records, oversees completion of all state forms associated with State Aid for transportation. Prepares and maintains the yearly budget for Transportation including supplies and contracts; reviews and recommends approval of all bills associated with Transportation with emphasis on but not limited to such things as contracts, gasoline, field trips, supplies. Monitors daily data transfer between SIS and transportation software. Interview, hire and train School Bus Monitors. Maintain training records and ensure compliance with applicable laws. Other related duties as required by the Director of Operations.
