We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Programs and Policy to join our team and lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of our district’s programs and policies. Minimum qualifications:Required: New York State certification as School District Administrator (SDA) or School District Leader (SDL)Minimum of 4 years total of successful public school administrative experience Position Overview: The Director of Programs and Policy is tasked with directing and overseeing the development, maintenance, updating, and distribution of the district's administrative procedural guidelines and School Board policies. This role ensures compliance with Board rules and applicable federal and state laws and regulations. The Director will also supervise the Office of Funded Programs, the DEI Coordinator, and other Federal Programs/Grants, ensuring strategic communication across all initiatives. Additionally, the administrator in this position will review the District and Building Safety Plans and provide oversight and guidance for annual NYSED reporting. The Director will act as the district’s liaison for bargaining units designated by the Superintendent of Schools. The Director of Programs and Policy will also play a crucial role in preparing for contract negotiations and, upon completion, assist legal counsel with the final contract preparations for the district’s bargaining units. Furthermore, the director will facilitate and participate in District-wide committees and task forces at the request of the Superintendent of Schools. The Director will support the Superintendent in all administrative matters, provide leadership to principals and other building-level administrators, and ensure high levels of success are achieved. Key Responsibilities and Requirements but Not Limited to: Provide leadership, oversight, and direction for the overall activities of planning, implementation, and evaluation of the District’s School Board policies, administrative procedural guidelines, and relations with other government agencies.Manage and provide oversight of various program components to ensure programs are administered within District policies and procedures and that services conform to established guidelines and regulations.Provides fiscal oversight and management of formula grant budgets.Authorizes expenditures based on interpretation of federal and state guidelines.Recommend policies to the Superintendent for the efficient operation of the district school system.Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of current programs and policies, recommending improvements, as necessary.Keep the Superintendent informed of potential problems or unusual events and serve as a thought leader in executing activities directly related to the district’s strategic plan.Work in tandem with all Assistant Superintendents and Coordinators to ensure programs meet the needs of all students.Provide leadership and support in planning and executing professional development for administrators, staff, and families.Interact with parents, outside agencies, businesses, and the community to enhance understanding of District initiatives and priorities and solicit support and assistance.Develop annual goals and objectives consistent with and in support of District goals and priorities.Articulate the strategic initiatives and alignment of programs and policies of the school system to various stakeholders.Prepare and present reports to the Board of Education and other key stakeholders.Assumes leadership for submission of surveys and reports.Plans and develops administrative procedures for the Superintendent's Administrative Handbook.Assists the Superintendent of Schools in contract negotiations and contract preparation. Administers and interprets the provisions of negotiated agreements within the district.Supervises the processing of grievances involving personnel from the following District bargaining units: BPNA and CSEA.Prepare the District's school year calendar in conjunction with the Production Center.Serves as one of the District's Title IX Compliance Officers.Oversees and monitors the assignment of all Superintendent's Hearings.Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
