(Teacher on Special Assignment) 10-Month Position + 5 Days of work over the summer (paid at the per diem rate)Qualifications:Must be a certified teacher or administrator preferably with experience in Childhood Education, Reading/Literacy, Curriculum and Instruction, Students with Disabilities or a closely related fieldMinimum of five years of experience in teaching, or a related field preferred Understanding of the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) model and developmentally appropriate instruction and interventions. Knowledge of the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) ModelExperience with implementation of the MTSS Model preferredOrganizational skills and ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with colleagues Experience with coaching/mentoring colleaguesExperience with developing and facilitating professional development opportunities for staff Must demonstrate knowledge of the NYS Next Generation Learning Standards for Math and English Language ArtsMust demonstrate knowledge of behavioral management and SEL strategies and interventions Must demonstrate competency in providing current and innovative researched-based instructional practices to support student learningMust be committed to being a positive collaborator and leader Must demonstrate the ability to collect, analyze and interpret data from multiple sources Responsibilities The MTSS Coordinator will support District Staff with the continuous improvement process in the core academic areas of Math, English Language Arts and Social Emotional LearningThe MTSS Coordinator may provide instructional coaching and/or professional development, along with procedural support to teachers and staff in an effort to guide them through supplemental academic and behavioral instructional supports and strategiesThe MTSS Coordinator will collaborate with instructional staff and related service providers with selection, development and implementation of the most appropriate intervention strategies for all students at all tiers The MTSS Coordinator will lead the MTSS teams at the elementary, middle, and high school levels The MTSS Coordinator will participate in the annual review and revision of the District-Wide MTSS Policy and practicesThe MTSS Coordinator will facilitate the problem solving process (identifying the deficit, developing and implementing a plan for intervention, monitoring the progress, evaluating the effectiveness of the intervention, and making data-driven decisions for change and or advancement)The MTSS Coordinator will provide support during the implementation of interventions (e.g. modeling or coaching staff through the implementation process)The MTSS Coordinator will conduct classroom visitations and provide feedback to teachers regarding the implementation of the intervention plan and the student responsiveness to the interventions/strategies provided.The MTSS Coordinator will maintain consistent and clear communication with parents, staff and students; including parent notification for all students who are referred to receive Tier 2 and Tier 3 servicesThe MTSS Coordinator will establish a culture that is aligned with the district goals and plan, including the continuity of high expectations for all staff and studentsThe MTSS Coordinator will oversee data collection and progress monitoring at all tiers The MTSS Coordinator will research and identify appropriate SEL and curriculum based measurement tools to be used in obtaining accurate data on student performanceUnder the direct supervision of the PPS Director, the MTSS Coordinator will work collaboratively with the building principals to ensure effective delivery and implementation of the district-wide MTSS modelThe MTSS Coordinator will be responsible for the planning, implementation and data analysis of universal performance assessments, progress monitoring, etcTo include five days of summer work, to be paid at the per diem rate Other duties as assigned ******Applicants will be considered on a rolling basis until the position is filled********
