Position: Full time, probationary tenure-track0.5 Athletic Director 0.5 Adaptive PE TeacherQualifications:Valid NYS Teaching Certification in PEExperience with scheduling of games and coaching preferredExperience working with students with disabilities Experience with the PE curriculum and instructionFamiliarity with Individualized Education Plans and the Special Education ProcessGeneral Statement of Duties:Work in conjunction with the AD at New Lebanon to oversee all aspects of the merged Athletics program. Work collaboratively with the Director of Special Education and the BMHS Principal to fulfill duties relating to the Adaptive PE classes.Responsibilities include:Teach Adaptive Physical Education Classes for students with disabilities Facilitate CSE Meetings, in the CSE Chairperson role, as needed Maintain a safe and healthy environment for studentsBuild relationships with students’ families through regular communication regarding progress and provide ways in which families can be supportive of the student’s health & motivation.Hiring and training of all coaches and ordering equipment/uniforms based on need.Create practice schedules around the league game schedules for all the teams.Ensure supervision/supervisory protocols are in place for games/matches.Work with the transportation and facilities departments to ensure on time arrival at practices/games and that home facilities are appropriate for practices/games.Enforcing the Athletic Code of Conduct.Communication with families, other ADs, coaches, teachers and staff as appropriate and needed.Promoting programs and events, constructing budgets, and facilitating operationsOther responsibilities as assigned in the operation of a successful athletic program.Application:Apply through OLAS oremail your application to Joseph Dhara, Superintendent, at jdhara@berlincentral.org ormail it toMr. Joseph Dhara, 17400 Rt 22, Cherry Plain, NY 12040 (postmarked no later than October 31st, 2022).
