Brookfield Central School seeks a strong instructional leader for our pre-kindergarten through 12th grade school. We are a small school with a big heart. Leaders must understand the importance of connecting with kids, staff, and the community. The principal will need strong collaboration skills to lead our school through the changes in education for the years to come.Desired knowledge and experience include: The ability to wear many hats and handle several responsibilities that are needed for a small school district with a small staff.Knowledge of annual professional performance reviews (APPR) for faculty observations.Knowledge of mandates and the ability to properly administer all New York State tests. Experience with School ToolAbility to analyze collected data to help develop curriculum to fit all levels of student learning.Knowledge of Special Education requirements, Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), Academic Intervention Services (AIP), and Response to Intervention (RTI). Supervision and attendance at after-school activities, sporting events, concerts, school productions, and other school-related functions. You will need to be the face and voice of our school and be involved with our community. The ability to work well with the entire school staff, communicate well, and listen to feedback to help improve the school environment. Excellent communication and collaboration skills while working with the superintendent and the Board of Education.Selecting new employees who fit the environment of our school. Create an environment that appreciates staff members to help retain a consistent staff for student learning. The willingness to consistently Implement the Student Code of Conduct and create a respectful learning environment that includes behavioral learning and student discipline. During this process, you must have excellent communication skills with staff, students, and parents.
