POSITION OVERVIEW:.6 P-Tech Coordinator - Now entering its second year, Brewster Opportunities, the Brewster High School P-TECH program, is the first initiative of its kind in Putnam County. In collaboration with local college and industry partners, P-Tech provides 9-14 programming to enhance the academic and college and career readiness skills of its students through exposure to college courses, personalized academic support, and unique work-based learning opportunities. The coordinator will work closely with community partners, as well as the entire BHS P-Tech team, to expand the program each year, provide the necessary material and academic support, and recruit future cohorts. The P-Tech Coordinator reports directly to the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment. .4 Assistant Principal at Wells Middle School - The Middle School Assistant Principal plays a vital role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of young adolescents during a critical transitional phase. Working in close partnership with the Principal, the Assistant Principal provides leadership in areas including student discipline, curriculum support, instructional leadership, staff development, and school climate. The role is designed to meet the unique needs of middle school students by fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment. Join the Brewster Bear family and come do good with us!KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:P-TECH CoordinatorProvide instructional leadership and strategic guidance to support the successful implementation of the P-TECH model, in collaboration with the school principal and district office administrators;Design and deliver targeted professional development for staff throughout the academic year and summer months to support instructional excellence and alignment with program goals;Coordinate the P-TECH program structure and day-to-day operations in collaboration with school-based and district-level personnel;Support the principal in supervision and oversight of all P-TECH-related initiatives within the school.Assist with student recruitment, counseling, and placement, ensuring all students are supported in accessing and succeeding in the P-TECH program;Partner with Westchester Community College and local industry representatives to align academic and workplace experiences and ensure wraparound support for students;Collaborate with district office staff to develop, refine, and align curriculum maps, instructional resources, and units of study specific to P-TECH programming;Monitor and analyze student achievement and program participation data, using evidence to inform continuous improvement, intervention planning, and instructional supports;Plan, organize, and manage summer bridge and enrichment programs that prepare and accelerate student readiness;Coordinate career exploration events, workplace visits, guest speakers, and industry mentorship opportunities that expose students to diverse postsecondary pathways;Serve as a liaison and lead contact for site visits, program evaluations, and compliance reviews conducted by NYSED, P-TECH affiliates, and other oversight agencies;Foster strong communication and relationships with students, families, staff, administrators, and community partners to build a cohesive and supportive P-TECH learning environment;Take responsibility for budget planning, allocation, and completion of all required budget documentation and submissions for New York State, ensuring compliance with program funding guidelines;Engage in ongoing professional learning and leadership development aligned with the evolving goals of the P-TECH initiative;Assistant Principal at H.H. Wells Middle SchoolPromote instructional practices that are developmentally responsive, student-centered, and engaging for early adolescent learners;Work collaboratively with staff, families, counselors, and clinicians to address behavioral issues, develop interventions, and support social-emotional growth;Partners with teachers to model 21st-century, child-centered instructional practices that are inclusive, differentiated, and rigorous. They provide support, guidance, and accountability to educators in designing engaging and effective instruction that meets the needs of diverse learners;Observes classroom instruction, provides feedback to teachers, and supports professional development initiatives to improve teaching quality;Builds strong partnerships with parents, families, and the broader community to support student success. Acts in a collaborative manner while having strong convictions. They communicate regularly with parents about school activities, student progress, and educational goals;Cultivate a positive school culture characterized by mutual respect, inclusivity, and high expectations for academic achievement and behavior. They promote a sense of belonging and pride among students, staff, and stakeholders, fostering a supportive and welcoming environment for all;Implementing emergency procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff in the event of a crisis or emergency.Additional ResponsibilitiesAttend evening events related to the P-Tech program and H.H. Wells Middle School;Take on responsibilities as designated by the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment and Principal to support overall success of the P-Tech program and H.H.
