The Brookside School, located in Cottekill, is seeking a full-time Preschool Special Education Teacher for our new school year beginning in September. Experience working with children with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities is very helpful. The Brookside School offers a regionally unique community preschool that serves children with and without special needs. Children participate in an integrated program that serves as a Rondout Valley Central School District Universal Pre-Kindergarten site, features a preschool special education program and is a private-pay option for parents who simply wish to send their child to a top-notch preschool.For children who need special services, Brookside School offers speech and language therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, counseling, parent counseling and training, nursing services, assistive technology services, 1:1 teacher aide and vision services based on your child’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP). Brookside can also provide special education through age 21.Brookside’s families believe the inclusionary atmosphere is a benefit to all children. The classes allow children with various skills and capabilities to learn and play side-by-side.
