SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER Anticipated Placement: Beacon High School Beacon High School is seeking a New York State certified Special Education Teacher. This is a probationary, tenure-track position that begins at the start of the 2026-27 school year. Responsibilities: Deliver and adapt special instruction across multiple content areas (e.g. Math, ELA Science, Social Studies) to meet the diverse learning needs of students with disabilities; Flexibility in instruction on student IEP goals, teacher collaboration, and daily classroom needs — comfort with shifting roles is essential; Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with families, general education teachers, and support staff; Differentiate curriculum and modify assessments to ensure access to grade level content for all learners; Adapt quickly to changes in schedules, assignments, or student needs — a flexible, team-first mindset is key to success in this role; Communicate proactively with students, families, and colleagues regarding academic progress; Participate in department meetings, professional developments, and school-wide initiatives; Contribute to extracurricular activities, clubs, or athletic programs when possible. NYS Special Education certification at the secondary level is required; content-area certification in English, Science, Social Studies, or Mathematics at the secondary level is also required.
