School Speech-Language Pathologist (Per Diem) - Brookville, NY Brookville, New York Per Diem 12-Month School Calendar Hourly Rate: $80/Hour Brookville Center for Children's Services provides comprehensive services for children 3-21 years of age with intellectual and other disabilities, traumatic brain injury, and autism. Our mission is to educate and support children of all abilities. Our Speech Language Pathologist will perform speech-language evaluations and conduct therapy sessions in accordance with students’ IEP/IFSPs. We offer: Competitive Pay New York State Sick Leave (NYSSL) Wellness incentives In this role, you will: Assess students’ needs through a variety of formal and informal measures. Develop and implement appropriate strategies for intervention as per the child’s IEP/IFSP. Conduct training sessions for teachers, staff and/or families in the areas of speech-language intervention. Inform team members of students’ progress on goals and provide activities to be carried over into the classroom/home environments. Respond quickly to children and/or parent/guardian’s request, refer to the appropriate member of the care team, if necessary, and inform the supervisor of actions taken. Promote positive co-worker relationships, teamwork and cooperation; Work collaboratively and is respectful of others. Demonstrate flexibility as well as the ability to handle numerous responsibilities. Participate in supervision and implement recommendations appropriately. We require: Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program required. New York State licensed and registered Speech-Language Pathologist required. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) required. Certification by the New York State Education Department as a Teacher of Speech and Hearing Handicapped (TSHH) OR Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD) required. NYS Medicaid enrolled provider required. Knowledge of diagnosis and treatment of speech-language disorders as normally acquired throughcompletion of a Master’s degree in speech-language pathology required. Minimum (1) year related work experience with preschool and school age special needs population preferred. Experience in PROMPT preferred.
