Brookville, New York Full Time: Mon-Fri, 8:30am - 3:30pm (32.5 hours weekly) Salary Range: $74,286 - $88,214 /Year 12-Month School Calendar Brookville Center for Children's Services provides comprehensive services for children 3-21 years of age with intellectual and other disabilities, traumatic brain injury, and autism. We are currently seeking a School Nurse to fulfill all school nurse functions as needed in a special education environment in an appropriate and professional manner. Complete NYS DOH immunization survey on an annual basis. Complete monthly DOH communicable disease reports. Safekeep medication needed to be taken by children; dispensing medications as per direction on prescription, tube feeding, and catheterizations. Administer oxygen when needed, nebulizer treatments, ostomy care and bronchial pumps. Prioritize and implement daily student care within the program utilizing nursing theory and knowledge of program function. Plan and implement staff education, as needed, on a variety of nursing and healthcare topics within the program, including seizure management, choking, and educating staff on anaphylaxis and allergies. Record keeping of student physical and medication orders updated yearly and when needed. Complete and document all first aid treatments and exposure to communicable diseases. Maintain nursing office and equipment; order and replenish office medical supplies. Monitor Private Duty Nurses. Adhere to specific program policies and procedures. We require: Licensure as a Registered Nurse by the NYS Office of the Professionals. A Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with pediatric population (infancy through adolescence). Knowledge and experience in Broviac, Shunt and Ostomy Management, respiratory treatment including nebulizer, medication administration, emergency medical care and seizure management. Physical capacity: Aspects may include, but are not limited to, lifting and transferring of a child/student.
