Teacher Aide Mon-Fri 8:30-3:30p Brookville location C.Birnbaum Bldg 32.5 hours per week Full TimeThe Autism Program is located on the Brookville campus and is dedicated to providing children with autism an individualized education that takes into account each child’s strengths, as well as specific deficits, and teaches the them the skills they need to increase their ability to communicate and function independently.Qualifications:High School diploma or GED and college credits in early childhood are required;NYS Teacher Assistant Certification-(ATAS) within six months of hire date.State Central Registry Clearance; Workshop- School Violence Intervention and Prevention.Good communication skills and a demonstrated willingness and aptitude working for individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities.Primary duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:Assist the assigned teacher as requested in all areas of the daily classroom routine.Assist the children as requested by the teacher; maintain health and safety of the classroom environment by performing assigned tasks.May be required to attend evening meetings.Prepare classroom materials as requested by teacher.
