To qualify, you must hold permanent certification or be currently employed in the Civil Service title of Personnel Assistant. This role demands strong knowledge of personnel administration practices and terminology, along with excellent communication, judgment, courtesy, integrity, tact, and resourcefulness.Responsibilities include:Maintain comprehensive employee records, including data for NYS Retirement, Civil Service, and NYSED.Meticulously track all time, leave (including COVID, FMLA, Worker's Comp, and LoA), and seniority records.Prepare vacancy postings, certified lists, and various reports.Process new hires (packets, fingerprints) and terminations (COBRA), and handle all staff changes.Manage all benefit enrollments (health, dental, flex), reconciliations, and information distribution.Prepare key correspondence like canvas, commitment, and appointment letters.Ensure compliance with NYS licensing, CTLE documentation, and federal/state posting requirements.Review lane changes and prepare Board of Education submittals.Benefits include health, vision and dental insurance, NYS pension, generous PTO and a supportive team environment.
