2023-2024 DRIVER EDUCATION PROGRAMThe Driver Education Program is professionally taught and provides students with a comprehensive introduction to driving. Students must complete 16 lectures of classroom instruction related to the rules of the road, traffic safety concerns, defensive driving, proper handling of a vehicle, parking, driving in traffic, and problems of substance abuse as related to driving. POSITION: Driver Education Theory Instructor (DTSE Teacher)LOCATION: Baldwin High SchoolREQUIREMENTS: Application for Approval as Teacher of Driver and Traffic Safety Education (DE-2)Original college transcript documenting completion of appropriate DTSE pre-service teacher courses (12 college credits) no older than five yearsCopy of NYSED secondary classroom teaching certificateCopy of NYS driver’s license with certified driving abstractAt least 21 years of ageEFFECTIVE: Summer 2023 (July 5 - August 17, 2023)Monday-Thursday – 3 hours per day Fall 2023 & Spring 2024 One evening a week – 3 hours
