Job Description The Babylon Union Free School District is seeking a dynamic, student-centered Special Education Teacher certified in both Special Education and English Language Arts to serve students in grades 7-12. The successful candidate will provide specialized instruction, support inclusive educational practices, collaborate with colleagues and families, and help students achieve academic and post-secondary success. Responsibilities Provide direct instruction to students with disabilities in grades 7-12. Teach English Language Arts courses and/or provide literacy support consistent with certification. Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs. Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, counselors, and administrators. Maintain compliance with federal, state, and district special education regulations. Monitor student progress and utilize data to inform instructional decisions. Foster positive relationships with students, families, and staff. Required Qualifications Valid New York State Certification in: Students with Disabilities (Grades 7-12) or equivalent Special Education certification English Language Arts (Grades 7-12) Strong knowledge of special education practices, literacy instruction, and differentiated learning.
