The Auburn Enlarged City School District is an equal opportunity employer.JOB DESCRIPTION LOCATION: District WideSALARY RANGE: $120-125,000 Position Goal: The Assistant Superintendent for Student Services is responsible for overseeing various aspects of student services within the Auburn Enlarged City School District. This position requires a dynamic individual with strong leadership skills and a deep commitment to ensuring the well-being and success of all students. Performance Responsibilities: Evaluate Teachers and Administrators: Conduct regular evaluations of teachers andadministrators to ensure compliance with district policies and standards.Oversee Residency Decisions: Review and make decisions regarding student residencywithin the district.McKinney-Vento Homeless Liaison: Serve as the district’s liaison for homeless students under the McKinney-Vento Act, ensuring they have access to appropriate services and support.Medicaid Compliance Officer: Ensure compliance with Medicaid regulations andoversee Medicaid billing for eligible services provided to students.Oversee Transportation Request Decisions: Review and approve transportation requests for students within the district.Lead Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Curriculum: Develop and implement a comprehensive SEL curriculum to support student well-being and academic success.Oversee Superintendent Hearings: Coordinate and oversee hearings related to studentdisciplinary matters.Facilitate Before and After-School Provider Meetings: Coordinate meetings with before and after-school program providers to ensure quality programming for students.Apply, Implement & Monitor Grants: Identify grant opportunities and oversee the application and implementation process.Supervise Auburn Tutoring Services (ATS): Provide oversight and support for tutoringservices offered within the district.Lead Board of Education Policy Sub-Committee: Serve as the leader of the Board ofEducation policy sub-committee, ensuring policies align with district goals and objectives.Support Transgender Student Services: Provide support and advocacy for transgenderstudents within the district.Serve on Cayuga County Community Services Board: Represent the district on theCayuga County Community Services Board, collaborating with other agencies to support student and community needs.Supervise Executive Director of Special Education: Provide supervision and support tothe Executive Director of Special Education.Support Sex Offender Parent/Guardians: Ensure appropriate support and supervision for students with parent/guardians who are sex offenders.Liaison with Department of Social Services and Outside Agencies: Collaborate withexternal agencies to support student and family needs.Oversee Cayuga Counseling Positions within our Schools: Provide oversight andsupport for counseling services within the district.Supervise SPIRIT Classrooms: Provide supervision and support for SPIRIT classroomswithin the district.Oversee Student Registration: Ensure efficient and accurate student registrationprocesses.Crisis Coordinator: Lead the Crisis Team in the communication and support of anysignificant crisis. Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools. Supervises:Supervises & evaluates assigned staffDirectly supervises all administrators Qualifications:Minimum Five (5) years of education, counseling, or related field experience required.Minimum Three (3) or more years of experience in building level leadership preferred.Minimum of Five (5) years of experience with a focus on student services.Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations related to student services, including special education and McKinney-Vento.Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders.Experience in grant writing and management preferred.Knowledge of social emotional learning principles and practices.Possess NYSED SDL or SDA certification.
