The Auburn Enlarged City School District is seeking a NYSED certified Special Education Coordinator candidate to lead at Auburn High School. The starting salary ranges from $80,000 to $83,000. SPECIAL EDUCATION COORDINATOR JOB DESCRIPTION Address calls and requests from families and staffAssist with hiring of staff as neededAttend Regional Chair Meetings at request of Executive DirectorAttend Superintendent Hearings and Chair Manifestation Determination Meetings as requestedChair CSE and 504 Meetings for district, BOCES and non-public schoolsComplete and monitor out of district program referralsCommunicate and build relationships with families of students with disabilitiesDevelop and implement new staff training sessions for Special Education Teachers, Related Service Providers, Teaching Assistants and AidesDevelop and implement Professional DevelopmentDevelop department newslettersFacilitate ESY recommendations and listsMaintain communication with BOCES and Non-Public schoolsMaintain department master lists, shared drives and Google classroomsMaintain visibility in buildings and classrooms, complete student observations as neededMeet with staff as neededMonitor and enforce department proceduresMonitor IEP accuracy for compliance and provide feedback to staffOversee testing accommodation proceduresParticipate in monthly leadership meetings with Executive DirectorPrepare and facilitate use of department dataProvide professional development on Special Education topicsReview and approve initial CSE, 504 and Related Services ReferralsSupervision of aides, develop and maintain schedulesTeacher evaluationsWork collaboratively with department facilitators to plan and facilitate department meetings for Special Education and SpeechOther duties as assignedThe Auburn Enlarged City School District is committed to creating a work environment that is focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
