POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for providing client treatment involving assessment of physical limitation/disability and its effects on the child’s life. Attempts to improve or modify and/or adapt clients to their limitations through kinetic activities, training and provision of adaptive equipment. This work is performed under the direction of a Registered Occupational Therapist. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum Education: Associate’s Degree in Occupational Therapy AssistanceMinimum Experience: Completion of Occupational Therapy Assistant Internship Required Certification/Registration:• Licensure by the New York State Education Department as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.• Current COTA certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).• Must maintain valid licensure and certification and complete any continuing competency programs mandated by the New York State Education Department and the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
