Responsibilities include preparing daily lessons, creating, and implementing learning centers, selecting, and monitoring individualized goals and objectives for each student, communicating with parents, and supervising teaching assistants/aides. Special Education Teachers must be compassionate, dedicated, organized, and adaptable professionals who are invested in the progress of their students and are able to collaborate with other professionals as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Minimum Experience:Experience teaching as mandated by New York State Education DepartmentRequired Education:Degree in Early Childhood Education, Students with Disabilities, or Special EducationRequired Certification/Registration:Completion of a NYS Registered Program- Student with Disabilities (Birth- Grade 2)
