Ardsley High School is seeking a Special Education Teacher for an anticipated position for the 2026-2027 school year. NATURE AND SCOPE OF JOB: Ardsley High School is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to support students with diverse learning needs in an inclusive, academically rigorous environment. The ideal candidate will provide individualized instruction, collaborate with general education teachers, and ensure that all students have access to the curriculum while working toward their Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals. This role requires a strong commitment to fostering student independence, confidence, and success both academically and socially. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with New York State and federal regulations Provide direct instruction in both resource and/or integrated co-teaching (ICT) settings Differentiate instruction and adapt curriculum to meet diverse student needs Collaborate with general education teachers, counselors, and related service providers Track and document student progress toward IEP goals and maintain accurate records Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student performance and progress Create a supportive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and behavioral supports Participate in Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetings and professional development Support students' transition planning for post-secondary education, careers, and independent living QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field (Master's degree preferred) Knowledge of IDEA regulations, IEP development, and compliance requirements Experience working with high school students with a range of learning, emotional, and behavioral needs preferred Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills Ability to differentiate instruction and implement inclusive teaching practices Commitment to equity, inclusion, and student-centered learning Familiarity with assistive technology and data-driven instruction is a plus CERTIFICATION: NYS teaching certification in Special Education EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated annually by building administration.
