Anticipated Special Education Teacher -Ardsley Middle School Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students in the Ungraded Special Class Program, in collaboration with parents/guardians, therapists, and other members of the educational team. Ability to differentiate instruction and utilize evidence-based strategies and interventions to meet the unique learning needs of students (such as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA); Positive Behavior Support). Create a supportive and structured learning environment that promotes student engagement, independence, and social-emotional development. Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. Provide ongoing assessment of student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed to ensure academic and functional skill growth. Foster positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues. Supervise support staff, ensuring they are deployed effectively and assigned tasks that align with the needs of the classroom and individual students.
