Probationary Music Teacher needed for the middle and high school.JOB REQUIREMENTS: Direct the high school chorus, Select Chorus, and 5 & 6 grade chorusesPrepare ensembles for a minimum of 2 concerts annuallyProvide students with an understanding of musical concepts and skills while nurturing a love of musicMaintain schedule of community performances with Select ChorusCoordinate and schedule small group instructionCollaborate with K-12 music teachers to support chorus programs across the districtPerform any and other such duties as requested by the building principalQUALIFICATIONS:Voice/Choral specialistAt least 3 years of successful chorus instruction preferred at middle and/or high school levelKnowledge of vocal pedagogy and Kodály instructionPiano skills preferredMusic direction experience for musical productions preferredMusic composition/production software skills (e.g. Pro Tools, Logic, Garageband, Soundtrap, Sibelius, etc.)Non-ensemble based music instruction at high school level preferred (i.e. music production, “music in our lives”, general music, music theory, music history, etc.)Proper NYS Teaching Certification is required
